1.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors related to addiction. By developing coping strategies, people can better manage triggers and cravings.
2.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT focuses on teaching skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. It helps individuals manage intense emotions and reduce self-destructive behaviors.
3.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
MI is a client-centered approach that enhances motivation to change. Through guided conversations, individuals explore their ambivalence about addiction and strengthen their commitment to recovery.
4.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
MAT combines medications with counseling and behavioral therapies. It is effective for treating opioid and alcohol addiction by reducing withdrawal symptoms and cravings, making recovery more attainable.
